GARA UFFICIALE DEL LAZIO: TRIONFA IL FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA CON PETRI E BRUMETZ
Nella splendida cornice dell’Hotel Mercure West si è svolta a Roma l’undicesima edizione della Gara Ufficiale del Lazio magistralmente condotta dagli instancabili e tecnologici rappresentanti della FIGF Lazio.
Il torneo maschile vede il successo di Daniele Petri che raggiunge la quadratura del cerchio nell’ambientamento alla FIGF, dopo il nono posto nella GU Lombardia e il secondo posto nella GU Friuli, con un torneo vibrante, dall’altissimo tasso tecnico, grazie al quale si propone prepotentemente per la conquista di una maglia azzurra.
Sono 128 gli iscritti con netta supremazia di laziali (66), seguiti dai marchigiani (15), Emilia-Romagna (9) e 7 rappresentanti della Lombardia, della Liguria e finalmente dell’Umbria.
Nella fase a gironi, tra i 32 gruppi è Alessandro Sandroni (10) l’unica tds a non accedere al tabellone superato dai romani Moreno Fioravanti e Alessandro Valeri mentre le due teste di serie del Lazio, Fernando Cruciani (15) e Carlo Pascotto (16), si qualificano alla fase successiva ma per secondi, superati da Danilo Vigato e dall’umbro Giovanni Vergari; stessa sorte per Marco Apollonio (8), Elia Campetella (13) e Daniele Sergi (1), secondi nel loro girone superati rispettivamente da GianMarco Vannoni, Gianluca Grillini e dal toscano Raffaele Bindi.
Ben più sorprendenti i trentaduesimi che vedono le premature quanto clamorose eliminazioni di Marco Apollonio, ad opera dell’ottimo Danilo Vigato, in un revival della finale del campionato italiano del 2016, di Massimo Rigotti (3), da parte del filippino Ruel Grafil, ora in forza all’Old Boys ligure e di Mattia Pinelli (7) sorpreso dal marchigiano Elia Campetella (13) per nulla turbato dall’aver perso il privilegio della tds nei gironi.
Intanto nella parte alta del tabellone è il toscano Milo Cutini, autentica rivelazione del torneo – anche se già noto nel soft – ad approfittare del buco lasciato dalla tds 1, Sergi arrivato secondo nel girone, approdando ai quarti dopo aver superato il marchigiano Pietro Ruggieri e il reatino Franco Pitorri, miglior piazzamento laziale insieme a Ronell Estoy; il filippino della Ragnatela, infatti, nei sedicesimi sfodera una super prestazione superando il suo connazionale Jojo Tamares (tds 12) prima di arrendersi a Francesco Raschini (tds 5); come facilmente prevedibile Stefano Tomassetti, in quanto unseeded, crea scompiglio nel tabellone e, dopo aver battuto un buon Grillini, deve imbattersi contro un altro osso duro, Marcus Brambati (tds 4), autore di una 11 darter in un match che l’abruzzese dei Supersonic, tuttavia, riesce a portare a casa per il 4-2 finale.
Nella parte bassa si assiste all’inizio del miracolo sportivo da parte di Daniele Petri (tds 3) che per tre turni consecutivi riesce a rimontare i suoi avversari da 2-3 a 4-3 con una freddezza encomiabile: nell’ordine si tratta del ligure Viorel Tulbu, notevole il suo torneo, e i due lombardi, compagni di squadra, Sergio Beretta agli ottavi (che spreca anche la freccia della vittoria) e Claudio Dolcetti nei quarti; e in questa parte di tabellone Sergi deve faticare prima di avere la meglio su Massimo Alfieri, umbro dello Steel Club Piegaro, mentre anche un altro umbro, Filippo Monaco del DC Mox Bar, si mette in luce, eliminando in sequenza Carlo Pascotto e Ruel Grafil, prima di arrendersi a Danilo Vigato, in forma stile 2016.
I quarti di finale vivono alcuni momenti di altissima qualità e nel contempo di assoluta suspence che richiamano l’attenzione di tutto il pubblico presente: detto del 4-3 di Petri su Dolcetti, anche il derby Supersonic fra Raschini e Tomassetti è una lotta tra titani risolta dal primo, sempre al decider, così come l’atro scontro tra il terzo rappresentante dei mitici Supersonic presenti nei quarti, GianMarco Vannoni e il toscano Cutini cui riesce il colpo con un altro incertissimo 4-3; anche l’ultimo quarto è molto combattuto ed è Vigato, se pur momentaneamente in vantaggio, che deve piegarsi alla maggiore precisione ai doppi di Sergi vincente per 4-2.
Le semifinali, in barba ai pronostici, sorridono ai nuovi entrati in FIGF: Daniele Petri non ha più bisogno di rimonte e impone altissimi ritmi a Sergi fin dalle prime frecce chiudendo i giochi con un perentorio 5-2 e medie impressionanti così come Milo Cutini che parte con una 14 darter, va sul 3-0, subisce la rimonta di Raschini fino al 3-3 per poi chiudere con una doppia 17 darter per il 5-3 che gli vale la finale.
L’ultimo atto, l’inedito Petri-Cutini, come spesso accade risulta nervoso, forse meno spettacolare delle partite del pomeriggio ma molto sentito dai contendenti; il toscano conquista il primo leg in 20 frecce, cui risponde il friulano con una 19 e una 23 darter; dopo il pareggio di Cutini, Petri fa suoi il quinto e il sesto leg per il momentaneo 4-2; qui il match si infiamma improvvisamente: nel settimo leg il friulano mette cinque frecce perfette in fila e ben sette tripli 20 nelle prime nove frecce e 60 rimasti; dopo un paio di errori, chiude con un’ottima 13 darter. L’ottavo leg è appannaggio di Cutini ma nel nono Petri sfodera un 70 di check out per la 18 frecce che lo porta alla storica conquista della sua prima Gara Ufficiale nazionale e di scavalcare il corregionale Rigotti al secondo posto nella classifica individuale, insidiando molto da vicino il capofila Daniele Sergi.
