GARA UFFICIALE DEL LAZIO: IL RITORNO DI LOREDANA BRUMETZ
La triestina Loredana Brumetz vince l’undicesima edizione della Gara Ufficiale del Lazio, dominando letteralmente il torneo fin dalle sue prime fasi, e tornando a vincere una competizione nazionale.

Il torneo vede 26 ragazze al via con undici rappresentanti laziali, quattro dell’Emilia Romagna e due a testa per le regioni Friuli Venezia Giulia, Toscana, Liguria e Veneto mentre colpisce l’assenza di atlete dalla vicina Umbria e la sola ed unica atleta proveniente da quel grande bacino di giocatrici rappresentato dalla regione Marche.
Fase a gironi con sette gruppi e quattro teste di serie; è la romana Sara Guastella, del DC Emicragna, a determinare la prima sorpresa, nel gruppo 1, battendo Giada Marani (tds 1) che riesce comunque a qualificarsi al tabellone come seconda, circostanza che però le costerà cara come vedremo più avanti; anche Giuli Vernokchi (tds 4) cede il privilegio della testa di serie alla friulana Loredana Brumetz che risulta prima nel gruppo 4; avanzano, invece, senza apparenti difficoltà le altre due atlete del seeding, Marzia Catino (tds 2) e Barbara Osti (tds 3) rispettivamente nel gruppo 2 e 3 mentre la veneta Maruska Meneghetti resta fuori dal tabellone – a cui accedono la toscana Indira Fini e la romana Francesca Buonocore – per una peggiore differenza leg in un gruppo, il sesto, che vede le tre atlete a pari punteggio.
Nel tabellone è quindi Sara Guastella ad ottenere il bye oltre a Marzia Catino mentre su Giada Marani si abbatte il ciclone Manuela Cappiello che conferma il suo ottimo stato di forma, dopo i recenti successi in Piemonte, battendo la veneta d’adozione con un secco 4-0; con lo stesso punteggio la Osti supera la Buonocore mentre Giulia Vernocchi è chiamata ad uno sforzo notevole per rimontare dallo 0-3 in favore della reatina Loriana Fabi e vincere al decider.
Le altre due qualificate al turno successivo, la ligure Tamara Wolff e la marchigiana Letizia Tiranti, saranno entrambe protagoniste di due sfide molto incerte ed entusiasmanti nei quarti, rispettivamente contro Loredana Brumetz e contro Sara Guastella, risolte a favore di queste ultime al decider ma con le giocatrici sconfitte molto applaudite dal pubblico, soprattutto per la Wolff, unica ad aver impensierito seriamente la futura vincitrice del torneo; per il resto il derby emiliano romagnolo è risolto da Barbara Osti contro Giulia Vernocchi per 4-2, stesso punteggio con il quale la piemontese Manuela Cappiello sconfigge la vincitrice della GU Lombardia, Marzia Catino.
Le semifinali vedono nettamente vittoriose la Brumetz e la Cappiello ma sia Sara Guastella, al suo miglior piazzamento in carriera in una Gara Ufficiale, sia Barbara Osti, al suo terzo piazzamento consecutivo tra le prime quattro nelle tre GU dell’anno, meritano la standing ovation.
La finale molto attesa si rivela però a senso unico; Manuela Cappiello, anch’essa al suo miglior risultato in una gara ufficiale, non riesce a ripetere gli exploit della giornata al contrario di Loredana Brumetz che sembra più a suo agio nell’unica pedana impegnata; vince i primi due leg in scioltezza, chiude una 24 darter con 73 di check out, la spunta su un nervosissimo quarto leg e compie il capolavoro nel leg conclusivo chiudendo una 17 frecce impreziosita dal 92 di check out che le consente di aggiungere, alla sua già ricca bacheca, la prima gara ufficiale della sua carriera.
